The Workshops

Young Love: A Look at Teen Relationships

Facilitated by the University Community Collaborative in Philadelphia
According to Shannon Mehner’s “Teens Often View Abusive Dating Behavior as Normal,” 100% of middle school students surveyed believe possessiveness and jealously are part of true love. Although they are only in middle school, it is likely these beliefs will stay with through high school, and even adulthood. As a result of this misinformation, it is important to have a workshop to accurately inform youth of healthy relationships. This student-led workshop will help to create a positive dialogue around healthy relationships, especially for high school students.
