- Youth-Adult Partnerships:
The field of youth work and youth organizing has begun shifting, at least theoretically, to “participatory” methodologies of learning and leading. Yet in practice, many organizations do not or are unable to implement these ideas. Using participatory methods, youth and adult facilitators will model what youth leadership looks like in a programming setting. Activities will also provide space for participants to unpack and examine adultism, to build tools and awareness of levels of youth participation, and to dialogue about real-life hurdles and solutions for putting these ideas to work. - From Street to Screen:
Using Social Media to Make Change: Most people either use social media or know someone who uses social media right? But how many people know how to leverage tools such as Facebook to organize groups toward a common purpose and goal? This interactive workshop takes the popular social media platforms and gives some real-life examples in current events to demonstrate how young people click their way to leadership and activism. - Genosociograms:
The genosociogram is much like a family tree but with a deeper exploration of sociohistorical events attached to ‘biological’ history. It helps us to not see our histories as incidental or accidental processes but as a part of a larger human and social process. - Based on your particular groups’ needs and skill base, we can tailor media trainings for you! We specialize in video production, digital storytelling, interviewing 101, audio 101, photography, open-source editing software, mobile technology, Final Cut Pro video editing, and Adobe Creative Suite.
