AmeriCorps Youth Organizer
The Gandhi Brigade seeks a Youth Organizer to train young people how to conduct a social change campaign through media and community organizing strategies.
The organizer must have experience working with youth from diverse cultural and economic backgrounds. Spanish language is preferred. Youth development training and knowledge of digital media production (video, animation, photography, music, graphic design) are a plus.
The successful Youth Organizer will serve for one year as an AmeriCorps member for the Gandhi Brigade beginning September 1, 2010. AmeriCorps members are paid $15,000 for one year of service and are awarded an educational grant of $5,300 upon completion.

Gandhi Brigade is a community media project that prepares young people to be 21st century leaders through a process of community engagement and new media. In collaboration with adult allies, young people explore issues of identity, community, and justice through video, photography, and graphic design. We help prepare youth for their role as future leaders through the integration of spirituality, entrepreneurship, and community relationships.

The Gandhi Brigade seeks a Youth Media Trainer to work with young people conducting social change campaigns through media and community organizing strategies. The trainer must have experience working with a variety of digital media, including video, graphics, and photography. Experience working with youth from diverse cultural and economic backgrounds is preferred. Spanish language, youth development training and knowledge of Macintosh computers are a plus.
