Abstraction: being lost in thought

The time spent in El Salvador was a experience i feel we will never forget. In my case the friends we made were all the difference in my experience. i feel that if it werent for them our time there would of been a complete different story. now back in the sates, i always think how cool it is to have friends so far away.

Eight Days in August

Ancient chapel— dark once more— you weep in silence.
A sigh, like the sound of rustling bats, betrays your bittersweet heart.

We are gone.
No more, the careless laughter of our youth.
No more, the babel of our variant tongues.
No more, the beauty of our faces— innocent, full of light, the colors of the continents.

Long suffering mother of us all...

Inertia

in case folks didn't catch it in Bronte's expose...there's been a few trips to the doc the last few days and 4 have been down for the count...including me. We weren't able to make the trip to San Salvador yesterday and watched morosely as everybody else galloped out the front gates on a new adventure.

As we contemplated our sick day staring at the hanging plants in front of the kitchen, Berty (a staff here at CAP and the husband of on of the participants) came by and asked why we were inside. We said we were lepers and had to recuperate before the rest came back. He said, let's go see some ancient ruins. and we did. Las ruinas de Cihuatan.

A Tear in the Canyon.

So this was meant to go up yesterday, but due to some pretty terrible (nee lame) technical difficulties, I can finally bring you this posting. It's been a great time so far, and with yesterday, we went all over the place. I don't want to dwell on it too long but it included getting another interview done well, trying out some amazing food (The horchata was amazing), getting some new clothes for myself and checking out an amazing lookout point called "The Devil's Gate"

we all stated watching my fb videos and i laughed.. i was so embaressed

Head in the Clouds

It still boggles my mind that from this high up I can see an entire city, all the lights together as one entity. I can feel the energy emitting form it… Hundreds of thousands, possibly millions of souls, each living their own chaotic lives, coming together and forming this beautiful sight that can only be seen from 38,000 miles above their own little worlds. I wish nothing but prosperity and love for all of them, and when my feet touch the soil, I become just another light in to be seen form the sky. My own world is part of something much larger.
