Greatest. Festival. Ever.
Gandhi Brigade’s “Express Yourself!” Youth Media Festival was a complete success! With over 1500 people in attendance, this festival was our biggest to date. We had live entertainment all day, ongoing movie screenings of all our submitters, a VIP youth lounge, and interactive activities that filled the Ellsworth strip in Downtown Silver Spring.

Youth Space Conversation with Ike Leggett
Gandhi Brigade youth teamed up with peers from the African Immigrants and Refugee Foundation to make the case for youth space in downtown Silver Spring. The meeting with County Executive, Ike Leggett was organized by Safe Silver Spring. Young people explained why dedicated space for youth was a critical missing element of the downtown development.
Youth Space Vision Statement
While Silver Spring has strong youth leadership with experience in event planning and community organizing, these valuable services are very difficult to perform without a dedicated space.
