Summer Promoter Training

summer training

This summer, three of my other peers and myself, will be working on a project called Social Change Media. As the Youth hired for this project, we are going to be shooting a documentary which focuses on the issue of deporting immigrants and how deportation affects our communities as well as the people related to the deported person(s).

This documentary will be used as a campaign to educate people about issues that immigrants face and the consequences that eventually affect our communities.

On Friday, February 11th (2011), we had a representative from CASA de Maryland and two Law Students gave a presentation about the rights we all have and ought to know we have. They did this through the use of fun theater techniques, where participants could act out scenarios to help increase understanding while keeping everything very lively. We also had a few members from Docs in Progress with us, filming a special piece on the Gandhi Brigade & Freedom School. Thanks to Everyone that made it out, we enjoy your presence!
