FIRST ANNUAL MIXED UNITY PEACE SUMMIT Saturday, October 10th 2009

Join MXD UNITY and learn more about how violence affects our lives and communities and ways to take action to stop it. GB staff Hawa Toure and Heather B. Kubo along with GB volunteer Shalin Basnayake will be heading the workshop titled "Darfur Distractions: Thinking Critically about the US & Genocide at home and abroad".

Registration starts at 9:30am and the program kicks off at 10am. Summit will take place at Montgomery College Takoma Park Campus.

CROSSING BORDERS Film Screening

Friday November 6th, 2009, 6:30pm-8:30pm

Cafritz Arts Buildling, Montgomery College Takoma Park Campus

Join us for a special screening of four documentaries produced during Gandhi Brigade's Crossing Borders summer media exchange program. Each short-form documentary was created by a production team of youth from El Salvador and Silver Spring during a 10 day exchange in Suchitoto, El Salvador in August 2009. The screening will be followed by a video-conference discussion with the audience and the youth producers from El Salvador and the United States.
